South Korea’s Kospi closed above the 9,000 mark for the first time on June 18.
The benchmark index rose 2.25% from the previous session to end at 9,063.84. It was the first time the Kospi had finished above 9,000.
Foreign investors drove the advance with net purchases of 1.2826 trillion won. Individuals and institutions were net sellers of 380.6 billion won and 777.5 billion won, respectively.
The Kosdaq, by contrast, fell 3.01% to 1,000.93. Individuals were net buyers of 392.8 billion won, while foreign and institutional investors sold a net 132.3 billion won and 265 billion won, respectively.
