Aztec, an Ethereum layer-2 project, is investigating a hack worth about $2 million.
The Block reported on June 18 that Aztec Labs had opened a probe into a roughly $2 million breach tied to an Aztec payment product. Blockchain security firm PeckShield estimated the stolen crypto at $2.165 million, including 1,158 Ether.
Aztec was also hit by a $2.1 million hack involving Aztec Connect on June 14. It was the project's second hacking incident in just a few days.
The attack appears to have stemmed from a validation flaw. The hacker reportedly withdrew assets after clearing the on-chain verification process.
Hacking losses have been climbing across the DeFi industry. The Block said more than $600 million has been stolen from over 30 projects so far this year.
Aztec Labs said it plans to share the findings of its investigation later.
