Wealthsimple is entering Canada’s prediction market.
The Canadian online financial services platform said June 18 that it will launch a new prediction market service in Canada through a partnership with Kalshi, according to BlockBeats and other reports.
Through a separate app, Wealthsimple Predict, the company plans to offer about 4,000 prediction market contracts traded on Kalshi. The service is set to launch in late summer.
The offering will be limited to categories permitted under rules set by the Canadian Investment Regulatory Organization, or CIRO. Eligible contracts include those tied to economic indicators, financial markets and climate-related outcomes.
Contracts tied to elections and sports will not be offered. Contract maturities will also be limited to products with at least 30 days until expiration.
