President Donald Trump said Iran's military was significantly weakened after the war.

Walter Bloomberg reported on June 19 that Trump said Iran had been weakened by the conflict and had lost its air force, navy, air defenses and radar systems.

Trump also dismissed claims by some Democrats that Iran emerged stronger after the war, calling them "stupid and unrealistic."

The US and Iran are preparing to sign a memorandum of understanding, followed by about 60 days of talks on a final agreement covering Tehran's nuclear program and sanctions on Iran.

Markets are weighing the fact that Washington and Tehran are offering sharply different assessments of the post-conflict security environment and regional influence even as negotiations between the two sides show signs of progress.
