US, Iranian and Pakistani delegations have arrived in Switzerland to prepare for technical talks, BlockBeats, a cryptocurrency media outlet, reported on June 21, citing foreign media reports. The talks are set to focus on Iran’s nuclear program and a ceasefire in Lebanon.

BlockBeats said Iran’s negotiating team, US Vice President JD Vance, Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Pakistan’s army chief had all arrived in Switzerland.

The negotiations are aimed at working out the detailed terms of a follow-up agreement between Washington and Tehran. Vance previously identified Iran’s nuclear issue and a Lebanon ceasefire as the main agenda items in US-Iran talks. Major international media outlets have also reported that the Switzerland talks will center on Iran’s nuclear program and a ceasefire in Lebanon.

For Iran, ending the conflict in Lebanon is a key priority for its delegation. Tensions on the Lebanese front had previously complicated the schedule for follow-up talks between the US and Iran.

Market participants view the outcome of the Switzerland talks as an important variable in easing Middle East geopolitical risks and concerns over oil supply. Detailed negotiations over Iran’s nuclear material, a Lebanon ceasefire and passage through the Strait of Hormuz could also shape sentiment toward risk assets.
