Iran’s President Says No Concessions Were Made in US Talks, Cites Progress on Lebanon

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said Tehran made no concessions in negotiations with the United States and that discussions involving Lebanon had also shown some progress in line with Iran’s position.
Odaily, a crypto-focused media outlet, reported on June 22, citing China Central Television, that Pezeshkian said Iran had entered the talks with dignity and confidence and had not yielded on any point.
He added that Iran would not allow its rights to be ignored under any circumstances and would neither retreat nor bow.
Pezeshkian also said the Lebanon issue had been adjusted in line with Iran’s stance during the negotiations already under way, with some positive breakthroughs emerging.
Earlier, Iran’s Foreign Ministry confirmed that technical talks under the framework of a US-Iran memorandum of understanding began in Switzerland on June 22. Markets are focused on follow-up agenda items including Iran’s nuclear issue, the release of frozen assets and a ceasefire in Lebanon.
