The US and Iran will resume technical talks next week as part of follow-up negotiations on their ceasefire memorandum of understanding, or MOU.

Pakistan's government said June 24 that the talks are set to restart next week, according to BlockBeats and other media reports.

The two countries recently held their first follow-up talks in Switzerland after signing the ceasefire MOU. They agreed there to partially ease economic sanctions, including by allowing exports of Iranian crude oil, in exchange for permitting inspections in Iran by the International Atomic Energy Agency, or IAEA, and reopening the Strait of Hormuz.

Iran, however, maintains it never agreed in follow-up talks with the US to inspections of its nuclear facilities. President Donald Trump said June 23 that Iran's claim was wrong and that he would cancel future talks if it were true. On the timing of the IAEA inspection team's entry into Iran, Trump said, "Nothing has been set, but they will step onto that land at the appropriate time."
