President Donald Trump said on June 24 that Iran had told the US it was not collecting any fees from vessels passing through the Strait of Hormuz.

In a Truth Social post, Trump wrote that despite what he called false media reports, Iran had informed the US that it was demanding and receiving "no tolls, insurance charges or fees of any kind in the Strait of Hormuz."

If that notification is false, follow-up negotiations after the ceasefire agreement will end immediately, he added.

Trump also said the US has not provided Iran with any money and has not released any frozen overseas funds to the country.

He also claimed that some Iranian funds "that we totally control" would be given to US farmers and ranchers to pay for purchases of American corn, wheat and soybeans.

"Iran desperately needs food, and we will make them buy it only from the United States," Trump wrote.
