In an interview with CoinDesk published on June 24, Zhao said he believed there were many misconceptions about both Binance and himself. He said he wants people to hear his story and understand who he is.
He also stressed that he is not involved in running Binance. Zhao said he remains the exchange’s largest shareholder, but does not operate the company. Binance.com has two co-chief executive officers, while Binance.US has its own chief executive officer.
Zhao also underscored his interest in the US market. He said he wants to do more in the US and personally hopes to help make the country the capital of cryptocurrency.
