Walter Bloomberg reported on June 24 that Wright also said it will take time for oil shipments to return to normal because of mines Iran placed in the strait.
"Full normalization of oil transport through the Strait of Hormuz is being delayed," Wright said.
The US will ensure oil shipments through the Strait of Hormuz continue even if no agreement is reached with Iran, he added.
