Binance has withdrawn its application for a Markets in Crypto-Assets, or MiCA, license in Greece as it pursues authorization under the European Union's crypto rules.
The company said in a post on X on June 24 that it made the decision after carefully reviewing the status and timeline of the Greek government's licensing process.
Europe remains an important market for Binance, and the exchange said it is confident it can secure a license within the next few months.
User funds remain safely protected, Binance said, adding that it will directly notify European users affected by the changes before the compliance deadline.
Reuters earlier reported, citing multiple sources, that Binance's MiCA license application in Greece could be rejected.
