Lee Chan-jin, governor of South Korea's Financial Supervisory Service, will meet on July 2 with chief executives and other representatives of virtual asset service providers, or VASPs.

Edaily reported on June 25 that Lee is scheduled to hold a regular meeting on internal controls and self-regulation with VASP representatives at Front1 in Seoul's Mapo district.

Attendees are expected to include Dunamu CEO Oh Kyung-seok, Bithumb CEO Lee Jae-won, Coinone CEO Cha Myung-hoon and Korbit CEO Oh Se-jin, as well as representatives from won-market exchanges, coin-market exchanges and custody firms.

The meeting will be Lee's second with the crypto industry since taking office. Participants plan to present their companies' proposals at the session.

The industry has raised the possibility that views could be presented on opening the market to corporate investors, spot crypto exchange-traded funds and won-denominated stablecoins.

At his first meeting with the industry on Sept. 30 last year, Lee emphasized investor protection and market soundness in the virtual asset market.
