U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio said President Donald Trump has multiple options if negotiations with Iran fail. He also reaffirmed his opposition to any plan to impose transit fees in the Strait of Hormuz.
Walter Bloomberg, an overseas breaking-news account, wrote on X on June 25 that Rubio said Iran's regime remains led by radical clerics.
Rubio also said Trump has several options if talks with Iran do not go well.
On the possibility of transit fees in the Strait of Hormuz, Rubio said Oman does not support such a system. Rubio has previously said the strait is an international waterway and that transit charges cannot be allowed. According to Yonhap News Agency, Rubio said at a press conference in Kuwait on June 24 that the world would oppose any system that charges for the use of international waterways.
