President Donald Trump said talks with Iran would be held in Doha, Qatar, while Tehran said the schedule has yet to be finalized.
Crypto media outlet Odaily reported on June 29 that working-level negotiators overseeing implementation of a temporary peace agreement between the US and Iran are expected to hold talks in Doha in the coming days.
Earlier on June 29, Trump wrote on Truth Social that Iran had requested a meeting and that it would be held in Doha on Tuesday.
Iran, however, said no schedule has been confirmed. Kazem Gharibabadi, Iran's deputy foreign minister, told Tasnim News Agency that no working-group meeting has been set for this week. He added that the Doha talks have not been finally confirmed.
He said routine consultations between Iran and Qatar are continuing. Those discussions also include reviewing whether the other side is fulfilling its obligations under the agreement, according to the report.
Odaily said concerns had grown that the temporary truce could unravel after the US and Iran exchanged retaliatory attacks last weekend.
A person familiar with the negotiations said mediators have established communication channels to reduce the risk of unexpected escalation and that working-level talks will continue.
