Iran said free passage through the Strait of Hormuz will be allowed for only 60 days under a memorandum of understanding.
Walter Bloomberg reported on July 30 that Iran's top negotiator, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, said vessels may transit the Strait of Hormuz without charge for only 60 days under the MOU.
Ghalibaf also said sovereignty over the Strait of Hormuz belongs to Iran and Oman, and that vessel traffic through the waterway is conducted in the manner designated by Iran.
