Cryptocurrency industry losses from hacks edged lower in June from the previous month.

The Block reported on July 1 that blockchain security firm PeckShield identified about 40 hacking incidents across the crypto industry in June. Total losses amounted to about $75.9 million, down 7.1% from $81.7 million in May.

Humanity (H) suffered the largest loss. The company’s own investigation put the damage at $36 million. The breach is believed to have stemmed from the exposure of founder Terence Kwok’s private key.

PeckShield said the attacker laundered the stolen funds through Bitcoin (BTC), Solana (SOL), Hyperliquid (HYPE) and BNB Chain. It added that some of the funds appeared to have been mixed with assets tied to the separate KelpDAO hack, fueling speculation that the same hacker may have been involved in both incidents.

Separately, TRM Labs said cumulative losses from crypto hacks this year have surpassed $750 million.
