President Donald Trump said the US and Iran agreed to pause follow-up talks on their ceasefire deal for one week.
In an interview with Axios on July 4, Trump said the two sides had decided to take a weeklong break from negotiations.
He added that the US and Iran also agreed not to attack each other while funeral proceedings are underway for Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, Iran's former supreme leader.
