Kospi Turns Lower, Briefly Falls Below 8,000 Intraday

Samsung Electronics rises more than 1%
SK Hynix falls more than 2%

South Korea’s Kospi turned lower during trading on July 6 and briefly fell below the 8,000 level.
As of 11:05 a.m., the benchmark index was down 17.03 points, or 0.21%, from the previous session at 8,071.31. The Kospi at one point slipped below 8,000 during the session.
In the benchmark stock market, retail investors were net buyers of 1.0526 trillion won. Foreign investors and institutions were net sellers of 380.5 billion won and 757.1 billion won, respectively.
The country’s two biggest chipmakers traded in opposite directions. Samsung Electronics rose 3,500 won, or 1.13%, to 313,000 won, while SK Hynix fell 52,000 won, or 2.14%, to 2.373 million won.
