BNB Chain to Develop AI Agent-Focused Layer 1, Plans Mainnet Launch Next Year
Forecast Trend Report by Period

BNB Chain is developing a Layer 1 blockchain tailored for trading by artificial intelligence agents.
The Block reported on July 8 that BNB Chain had unveiled its technology roadmap for the second half of 2026.
The centerpiece of the roadmap is a new Layer 1 blockchain built specifically for AI agent-based trading. The chain will operate separately from the existing BNB Chain stack.
BNB Chain also laid out performance targets for the new network, including throughput of more than 100,000 transactions per second through features such as parallel execution and block times of less than one second. The figures remain targets and have not yet been reached on a testnet.
The blockchain will be the fourth network in the BNB Chain ecosystem, after BNB Smart Chain, opBNB and Greenfield. Chief Technology Officer David Z said the goal is to expand the overall BNB Chain ecosystem rather than redistribute activity within it.
BNB Chain plans to launch a testnet by the end of this year and roll out the mainnet early next year.
