Iran said it would close the Strait of Hormuz if it comes under further attack by the US.

Walter Bloomberg reported on July 8 that Iran would again shut the Strait of Hormuz if the US carries out additional airstrikes. Tehran also said it would respond to the US attacks.

The US resumed airstrikes on Iran on July 7 after three oil tankers were recently attacked by Iran in the Strait of Hormuz.

President Donald Trump said a memorandum of understanding to end the war with Iran appears to be over. “I don’t want to make a deal with them,” he said. “They are disgusting people.”

Trump also raised the prospect of more strikes. “We will probably hit them hard tonight,” he said. “The US military could also take control of Kharg Island.”
