Populous, an Asia-based blockchain research firm, said July 9 that it will join WebX 2026 in Tokyo as a research partner. The conference will run for two days starting July 13.

WebX is one of Asia’s largest global Web3 conferences. This year’s event will be held at The Prince Park Tower Tokyo, where global companies, financial institutions, investors, developers and regulators will discuss key issues across the digital-asset industry, including blockchain infrastructure, digital assets, stablecoins, decentralized finance and AI.

As a research partner, Populous will produce an exclusive report analyzing Japan’s digital-asset market and distribute it to participating companies and institutions at the event. The report, to be produced with CoinPost and HashHub, will examine the market’s current status and growth trajectory, major operators and infrastructure, the regulatory framework, comparisons with global markets and the outlook.

A Populous official said the partnership reflects renewed recognition of the firm’s research capabilities and expertise in Asia’s digital-asset market. Japan is a core market where the sector is growing rapidly on the back of regulatory clarity, and the partnership will help the firm build closer ties with key stakeholders in the country’s Web3 ecosystem.

The firm also said it plans to expand its in-depth research on digital-asset markets across the Asia-Pacific region, including South Korea and Japan, and strengthen research capabilities that contribute to the sound development of the global blockchain ecosystem.
