Bybit’s app is no longer searchable on Google Play in South Korea.

A search for “Bybit” on South Korea’s Google Play Store as of July 10 did not show the app in the results. New users therefore cannot install the app or access its app page.

By contrast, apps for other overseas crypto exchanges, including Binance and Bitget, remained searchable and available for download.

South Korea’s Financial Intelligence Unit had previously moved to restrict app access for overseas virtual asset service providers that have not registered in the country under the Special Financial Transactions Act. At the time, Google Play said it would limit downloads and updates for apps from unregistered overseas exchanges, but implementation had been delayed.

It has not been confirmed whether the latest move is related to the FIU’s sanctions on unregistered overseas virtual asset service providers. Bybit and Google did not provide comment.
