An Argentine court has ordered the freezing of wallets linked to the memecoin LIBRA.

Odaily reported on July 17 that an Argentine federal court recently ordered authorities to identify and freeze wallets tied to the LIBRA project. The order followed an investigation by Argentina's federal police, which has tracked the movement of related funds across multiple blockchain networks since May.

The investigation covers eight wallets linked to the LIBRA team. The wallets are known to be directly connected to the issuance of the LIBRA token.

A federal police investigation report said four of the eight wallets consolidated $57 million into a single wallet. That address was previously frozen by a federal court in New York before the restriction was later lifted.

The funds currently covered by the court's freeze order total $8.2 million, which federal police are still tracing. The court believes the source of the funds can be identified through centralized exchanges, or CEXs.
