Galaxy Digital has secured the naming rights to Texas Tech University's football stadium.

Cointelegraph reported on July 17 that Galaxy Digital signed a 15-year naming rights agreement with Texas Tech University. The stadium will be called Galaxy Stadium beginning this season. Its first official game under the new name will be the season opener against Abilene Christian University on Sept. 5. Financial terms were not disclosed.

The partnership also makes Galaxy Digital the official data center and digital asset partner of Texas Tech Athletics. The two sides also plan to cooperate on athlete name, image and likeness initiatives, artificial intelligence projects and workforce development programs.

Texas, meanwhile, is solidifying its position as a hub for the digital-asset industry. Major Bitcoin miners including Riot Platforms, Core Scientific and CleanSpark operate large facilities in the state. Governor Greg Abbott signed legislation last year establishing a Texas Strategic Bitcoin Reserve. Texas is also working to shift reserve holdings from spot Bitcoin exchange-traded funds to direct custody of Bitcoin.
