Iran Expands Attacks on US Positions in the Middle East

Multiple US service members were injured after Iran recently struck military bases in Jordan that included facilities used by US forces. The US and Jordanian governments said there were no deaths.
CBS News reported on July 17 that Iran had attacked at least two military bases in Jordan. The US military uses bases in Jordan as key hubs for its operations in the Middle East.
The US and Jordanian governments did not disclose how many troops were injured or the severity of their wounds.
Iran has been expanding drone and missile attacks against US allies in the Middle East, including Jordan, Qatar, Bahrain and Kuwait, in retaliation for the resumption of US airstrikes.
Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, or IRGC, also claimed it attacked a US base in Syria. US forces had already withdrawn from that base earlier this year, according to the report.
Mohsen Rezaee, a military adviser to Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Seyyed Mojtaba Khamenei, said in a state television interview on July 17 that Iran would launch a full-scale offensive if US attacks continue.
The US military has continued striking Iranian territory since Iran resumed attacks on ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz.
