U.S. stocks opened higher on July 21, with artificial intelligence-related shares posting broad gains.
Crypto media outlet Odaily reported that shortly after the opening bell, the Dow Jones Industrial Average was up 0.44%, the S&P 500 had gained 0.56%, and the Nasdaq was ahead 0.94%.
The VIX volatility index, often referred to as Wall Street's fear gauge, fell 4.4%. Improved risk appetite appeared to drive buying in technology and growth stocks.
AI-related shares were broadly higher. Teradyne jumped 9.59%, while Micron Technology rose 7.63%. Marvell Technology gained 6.65%, Astera Labs climbed 6.55%, and Ambarella advanced 5.27%.
Recent moves in semiconductor and AI-related stocks are also influencing sentiment in the cryptocurrency market. Investors are watching whether the rebound in AI shares will extend to the broader technology sector and support a recovery in appetite for risk assets.
