The White House is urging Senate Democrats to pass a compromise version of the CLARITY Act, a U.S. cryptocurrency market structure bill, CoinDesk reported.

CoinDesk said on July 21 that the bill's release was delayed for several days as negotiations centered on provisions restricting crypto business activities by senior government officials, including President Donald Trump.

Trump's side made some concessions on those ethics provisions, according to the report. Democratic senators, however, said they have not yet been briefed on the specific terms of the agreement.

The White House said the administration "has made every effort" to address concerns raised by Senate Democrats and called for the compromise bill to pass.
