The Financial Times reported on July 22 that Samsung is in talks to invest in French artificial intelligence startup Mistral AI, citing multiple sources.

Samsung is considering joining a funding round in which Mistral is seeking to raise several billion euros at a 20 billion-euro valuation, the newspaper said. The sources added that Samsung could invest about 1 billion euros.

The Financial Times said Mistral raised 1.7 billion euros in a funding round in September last year. Most of that funding came from Dutch semiconductor equipment maker ASML, which uses Mistral's AI models.
