Thune said he wants to begin consideration of the CLARITY Act before the summer recess. Even if that deadline is missed, doing so could preserve a path to take up the bill during the Senate’s short September session. If consideration slips to September, however, the measure would have to compete with other major legislation for priority ahead of the midterm elections.
