Iranian media reported that the U.S. military struck a naval base operated by Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, or IRGC, with missiles.
Odaily, a cryptocurrency news outlet, reported on July 24, citing Xinhua, that Iranian media quoted an Iranian official as saying the U.S. attacked an IRGC naval base in Iran’s Gilan province that day.
The reported target was an IRGC naval base in Gilan province. Ali Bagheri, deputy governor of Gilan province, said some equipment at the base was damaged in the attack.
Authorities have not disclosed whether there were any casualties.
As military tensions between the U.S. and Iran persist, markets are watching whether the risk of further clashes and broader Middle East tensions will affect international oil prices, demand for safe-haven assets and sentiment toward risk assets.
