XRP spot exchange flows jumped 182% over a short period, but the surge does not necessarily signal strong buying, according to a report by crypto media outlet U.Today.

U.Today reported on July 24 that XRP transfers through spot exchanges rose 182% in the recent short-term period. The increase indicates that more XRP was traded or moved through spot venues.

The outlet said the figure points more to heavier activity from both buyers and sellers than to aggressive accumulation. Net buying and net selling flows were mixed during intraday trading.

XRP's price action remains constrained. The token is trading around $1.10 and remains below its 50-day, 100-day and 200-day moving averages. Technically, that suggests the longer-term bearish trend is still intact.

"Unless XRP reclaims the 50-day moving average around $1.11 to $1.12, any upside attempt is likely to face persistent selling pressure," U.Today wrote.

On-chain indicators are mixed. Daily settlement volume on the XRP Ledger has slowed from the early-July spike, when it exceeded 1 billion XRP a day. Even so, transaction counts remain solid, and the number of active users has stayed stable over the past month.

U.Today said the latest jump in exchange flows may reflect portfolio rebalancing rather than broad bullish accumulation. Investors may have moved more XRP as they took profits, shifted funds or prepared for higher volatility.
