HSBC Says Crypto Share of HNW Portfolios Fell to 6%; 45% Plan to Increase Holdings
Forecast Trend Report by Period

The average portfolio allocation to cryptocurrencies among high-net-worth investors worldwide fell to 6% this year, though nearly half plan to increase their holdings over the next 12 months.
Odaily reported on July 28 that HSBC, in its "Affluent Investor Snapshot 2026" report, surveyed about 10,000 high-net-worth individuals globally and found the average allocation to crypto was 6% this year. That was down 1 percentage point from a year earlier.
Still, 45% of respondents said they plan to raise their crypto allocation over the next 12 months. Another 40% said they expect to keep their holdings at current levels.
By country, investors in Singapore and Malaysia maintained their crypto allocations at 5% and 6%, respectively, unchanged from a year earlier.
Over the same period, the average cash allocation among high-net-worth investors worldwide fell to 19%. Money leaving cash was shifting into equities, gold and alternative assets, the report showed.
