South Korea’s Kospi briefly attempted to reclaim the 6,000 level during trading on July 30, but ended the session down more than 1%.

The benchmark index closed at 5,593.56, down 69.68 points, or 1.23%, from the previous session. It has dropped 1,162.19 points, or 17%, over the past three trading days.

The Kospi opened at 5,681.77, up 18.53 points, or 0.33%, from the previous day, and moved between gains and losses throughout the session. It rose during intraday trading before reversing course and ending lower.

The Kosdaq closed at 644.78, down 17.90 points, or 2.70%, from the previous session.
