Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps said on July 30 it attacked US military bases in Jordan and Kuwait in retaliation for a US strike.
In a statement, the IRGC said it fired several ballistic missiles that morning at Al-Azraq Air Base in Jordan. It claimed the attack completely destroyed three F-35 fighter jets and severely damaged three others, Russia’s RIA Novosti reported, citing Iran’s state-run IRIB broadcaster.
The IRGC also claimed an attack on Ali Al Salem Air Base in Kuwait, where US forces are stationed. The strike destroyed two drone hangars and one military aviation fuel storage facility, Russia’s Tass news agency reported.
The IRGC said it would continue attacking US military infrastructure until the US is completely driven out of the region.
Jordan’s military said it intercepted five Iranian missiles fired toward its territory and that there were no casualties, AFP reported.
A spokesperson for Kuwait’s Ministry of Defense said in a post on X that the Iranian attack hit a building owned by a Chinese company in northern Kuwait, killing one worker and causing severe damage.
