Crypto news outlet Odaily reported that the Kospi ended at 6,358.95, up 101.5 points, or 1.62%, from the previous trading day. The index was down more than 2% at one point during the session before turning higher.
The Kosdaq surged 5.88%. A buy-side sidecar, which temporarily halts program buy orders, was triggered as share prices climbed rapidly during the day.
Among individual stocks, SK Hynix rose 0.63% and Samsung Electronics gained 0.2%.
Japan's Nikkei 225 closed at 63,957.53, up 202.63 points, or 0.32%. Kioxia rose more than 4%.
