SEC Commissioner Hester Peirce said she is optimistic the CLARITY Act will pass, according to Binance News on August 4.
Peirce said she expects the bill to clear Congress. Regardless of the outcome, the SEC will continue pursuing regulatory reform for virtual assets, or cryptocurrencies, she said. Even if the legislation fails, there is still much the agency can do.
She also said the crypto industry needs a clearer regulatory framework. A well-defined market structure would strengthen US competitiveness in digital assets and help reduce the industry’s long-term regulatory uncertainty.
