Walter Bloomberg reported on August 6 that traders on prediction market Kalshi are pricing in a 66.9% chance that the S&P 500 will reach the 8,000 level this year.
The S&P 500 has gained more than 5% over the past four trading sessions, leaving it about 3.6% below 8,000.
The rebound has been driven by renewed expectations for AI investment, solid second-quarter corporate earnings and easing tensions in the Middle East.
Kalshi is also pricing in about a 33% chance that the S&P 500 will rise above 8,200.
