Tim Scott, chairman of the U.S. Senate Banking Committee, said the CLARITY Act could be brought to a vote before the Senate begins its August recess.
In an interview with Fox Business on Aug. 6, Scott said there was "no doubt" the measure would come up for a vote this week. He added that he planned to remain in the Senate for at least the next two days, and said Republicans were united and would also win Democratic backing.
Scott said the CLARITY Act would protect consumers while promoting U.S. innovation. He also called President Donald Trump's acceptance of an ethics provision unprecedented progress.
