Investor sentiment improved after the Federal Reserve held interest rates steady, Walter Bloomberg reported on August 6, citing a survey by the American Association of Individual Investors, or AAII.
The share of bullish respondents rose 6.0 percentage points from a week earlier to 37.0%, approaching the long-term average of 37.5%. Bearish sentiment fell 4.1 percentage points to 38.0%, though it remained above its long-term average. Neutral views stood at 25.0%.
The bull-bear spread improved sharply to minus 0.9% from minus 11.1%.
More than half of respondents said the Fed's decision to keep rates unchanged was appropriate.
