Monthly perpetual futures trading volume on centralized cryptocurrency exchanges fell to its lowest level in 31 months last month.

Cointelegraph reported on August 7 that monthly perpetual futures volume on centralized exchanges totaled about $4 trillion last month. That was the lowest level since December 2023.

Binance led all exchanges with about $1.4 trillion in volume. OKX followed with about $600 billion, while Bybit handled about $300 billion.

The decentralized exchange perpetual futures market also shrank. DeFiLlama data showed perpetual futures volume on decentralized exchanges totaled $531 billion last month, the lowest since June 2025 and the weakest level in about a year.
