Microsoft Threat Intelligence has identified compromised websites using a blockchain network to deliver malware commands, Wu Blockchain reported on August 7.
Hackers used a technique known as "EtherHiding." It retrieves malicious instructions hidden in smart contracts on the blockchain through BNB Smart Chain's RPC gateway.
Attackers display fake CAPTCHA verification prompts to trick users into executing the malicious commands themselves.
Microsoft said thousands of corporate and personal devices worldwide are being targeted each day through these "ClickFix" and "TerminalFix" attack campaigns, and urged users to exercise caution.
