Iran reaffirmed that operations in the Strait of Hormuz will not return to their prewar state, Walter Bloomberg reported on August 10.

Ali Nikzad, deputy speaker of Iran’s parliament, said there is no military solution to reopening the Strait of Hormuz. He added that only shipping lanes agreed by Iran and Oman will be recognized.

Iran has maintained that vessels must follow routes designated by its military.
