Coinbase, the global cryptocurrency exchange, said it has obtained a license from Abu Dhabi’s Financial Services Regulatory Authority, or FSRA, in the United Arab Emirates.

In a post on X on August 11, the company said the new FSRA license will allow it to offer global securities to users with wallets.

Coinbase plans to establish Abu Dhabi Global Market, or ADGM, as the hub for its global tokenization business. It aims to expand its UAE-centered push into tokenized traditional financial assets that can be traded on blockchain.

“The next phase of global finance is on-chain,” Coinbase wrote. “We are building it in the UAE.”
