Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said Iran did not yield despite US pressure and claimed Washington’s early expectation of forcing Tehran into “unconditional surrender” had collapsed.

Odaily, a cryptocurrency news outlet, reported on August 11, citing CCTV International Commentary, that Araghchi said “no one thought Iran could withstand the US” and that Iran “did not bow” despite pressure from the US, Israel and other Western countries.

Iran’s resistance shattered what he described as the US illusion that Tehran would accept “unconditional surrender” at the start of the war, Araghchi said.

He added that the US began seeking negotiations 20 days after the war started.
