Anchorpoint, a joint venture backed by Standard Chartered, has started issuing a Hong Kong dollar-based stablecoin.

Odaily and other outlets reported on August 12 that Anchorpoint began the first phase of issuance for the Hong Kong dollar stablecoin HKDAP that day. During the initial phase, institutional distributors and professional investors will be given access for testing.

Anchorpoint was jointly established by Standard Chartered, HKT and Animoca Brands. The venture obtained a stablecoin issuer license from the Hong Kong Monetary Authority in May.
