Kalshi, the US prediction-market platform, is in final talks to raise $750 million in a new funding round that would value the company at $40 billion, according to The Information.
The technology news outlet reported on Aug. 13 that Kalshi is in late-stage negotiations for the financing. The final amount could exceed $750 million.
Sequoia Capital, an existing investor, and Wellington Management, a new investor, are considering leading the round. A Sequoia executive also sits on Kalshi's board. The firm manages $56 billion in assets.
Wellington Management is a global asset manager that mainly invests in private companies preparing for initial public offerings. Kalshi Chief Executive Officer Tarek Mansour said in June that the company was considering an IPO in 2027.
Kalshi is seeking a $40 billion valuation in the new round. The company raised $1 billion in May at a $22 billion valuation. If the deal closes on those terms, Kalshi's valuation would nearly double in three months.
Kalshi's annualized revenue topped $4 billion last month, driven by surging demand for sports-related prediction-market contracts tied to the 2026 World Cup in North America.
