The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission has delayed a public meeting that had been scheduled for Aug. 14.
In a notice issued on Aug. 13, the SEC said it was canceling the meeting set for 10 a.m. on Aug. 14.
The agency said it remains committed to carrying out the president’s policy of providing clarity for the crypto-asset market. It added that unexpected scheduling issues forced the meeting to be postponed to a later date.
The SEC had planned to discuss regulatory issues tied to crypto assets at the meeting. The event had drawn market attention as the U.S. government steps up efforts to reduce regulatory uncertainty in the digital-asset market.
The agency did not provide a new date and said it would announce the rescheduled meeting separately.
