Coinone Extends KakaoBank Real-Name Account Partnership by One Year Through August 2027

Coinone said on Aug. 19 that it had extended its contract with KakaoBank for real-name verified accounts by one year through August 2027. Coinone chose KakaoBank as its banking partner for real-name accounts in August 2022.

The cryptocurrency exchange also reviewed the adequacy of its anti-money laundering system based on an on-site inspection. Following the extension, it completed an amended filing with the Financial Intelligence Unit.

Coinone said it plans to expand its long-term cooperation with KakaoBank. The companies aim to strengthen links between their services to attract more users and improve convenience. KakaoBank's app currently offers a "My Virtual Assets" page that allows users to view digital assets held at Coinone and move directly to Coinone's services.
