Binance has launched a developer platform that lets AI agents handle tasks from retrieving market data to executing trades.
Cointelegraph reported on Aug. 20 that Binance introduced Agent OS, a platform that allows AI agents to pull market data, monitor accounts and place trades.
Agent OS integrates with major AI tools including ChatGPT, Claude Code, Codex and Cursor. Users can grant AI agents permission to view accounts and trade. They can also assign separate subaccounts to keep assets and trading records managed separately.
Users can set permissions directly and revoke access at any time. Binance said it can monitor trades executed through Agent OS, but cannot determine what information an AI agent collects externally or how it arrives at its decisions.
Agent OS extends beyond trading. It also connects with Binance's payments and on-chain services to support wallet management and on-chain payments.
Major cryptocurrency exchanges have recently accelerated efforts to build AI agent infrastructure. Coinbase introduced Coinbase for Agents in June, allowing AI models to connect to user accounts and execute trades and payments.
Kraken unveiled an AI investment assistant in July that provides market monitoring and trade recommendations. Users still must give final approval before any trade is executed.
OKX is also operating a beta marketplace where AI agents can hire other agents and trade autonomously using stablecoin payments and an on-chain reputation system.
Binance co-founder Changpeng Zhao has previously described cryptocurrency as the "native currency" of AI agents and said their role in on-chain activity is set to expand significantly.
