MANTRA Chain, a layer-1 blockchain focused on real-world asset tokenization, halted network operations after an unexplained incident.
The Block reported on August 21 that the MANTRA team wrote on X that it had identified an incident affecting MANTRA Chain and halted the chain as a precaution while an investigation continues. All endpoints and transactions are currently frozen.
The disruption is also affecting deposits and withdrawals linked to MANTRA Chain. The company asked users to refrain from trading until more information is released.
The exact cause of the incident and a timeline for restoring the network have not been disclosed. According to MANTRA's official status page, its engineering and security teams are investigating the issue with external partners. It also asked exchanges and ecosystem partners to suspend trading in its native token until the problem is resolved.
MANTRA token was trading at $0.004406, down 9.9% over the past 24 hours, in the fallout from the incident.
Separately, MANTRA announced in June that strategic investor Inveniam Capital Partners would acquire the platform. The deal is scheduled to close in the third quarter of this year. The acquisition move followed the MANTRA token's price plunge in 2025, as well as subsequent restructuring and workforce cuts.
